"Portland, Oregon" is a difficult formulation to squeeze into song, and that's one of the reasons I'm getting excited about the new IFC cable series, "Portlandia" -- theme songs with "Portland" in them! Carrie Brownstein managed to get the city AND the state involved, thanks to a little elision of "Oregon." Three cheers!
The show premieres at 10:30 p.m. Friday, January 21.
